About Pilar MartinEz

Although my interest in jewellery making began at home in Spain, I took real inspiration during a trip to New Zealand. Pilar MartinEz Jewellery came into fruition in this beautiful country back in 2004. Paua shell was my first raw material and I learned about gemstones, pearls and how to work with shells to make jewellery. While working with these materials I soon realised that some of my designs had an eccentric touch and that I was attracting specific customers that loved wearing my jewellery. I decided to work in this direction and as today, I am very proud of introducing my own website which reflects what my work is about.

I am passionate about what I do and I have a love for anything handmade. I admire and take an interest in other artisans work and I enjoy attending craft markets and fairs. There is so much talent out there and I am a great believer in sharing ideas and techniques.
The most rewarding aspect of my work is receiving positive feedback about someone's purchase experience, whether it was for themselves or someone else.  This only inspires and motivates me to continue working, creating and doing what I love.
